Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website or buy Stoker, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect the little we need to sell and support the Software, we don't run trackers, and the Software itself is self-hosted, so your monitoring data never reaches us.
The Software does not send us your data
Stoker is self-hosted. The hub and agents run entirely on your own infrastructure, and your monitoring data (machines, services, metrics, events) stays on your network. We never receive it. The hub's optional "check for updates" feature is off by default; when you turn it on, the hub only reads a small version file from us and sends us nothing about your environment.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your email address and any message, when you email us, request a license, or ask for support.
- Purchase details needed to issue a license, such as your name or organization name and email address. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider (see below); we do not receive or store them.
- Basic server logs from our website host (such as IP address and request time), kept for security and to keep the site running.
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies or third-party trackers. [If you later add analytics, update this section.]
How we use it
- To deliver and support the Software, including issuing and renewing license keys.
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
- To send you information about your purchase or important product notices. We do not run a marketing newsletter unless you opt in.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, under confidentiality obligations, including:
- Our payment provider Stripe, which processes payments and acts as merchant of record. Their handling of your data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
- Our email and website hosting providers.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license and to meet tax and legal requirements, then delete or anonymize them. We keep support correspondence only as long as useful for support.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email contact@stoker.services and we will respond as required by applicable law.
International visitors
We operate from North Carolina, United States. If you contact us or buy from elsewhere, your information may be processed there and by our providers in their locations.
Changes
We may update this policy; we will change the date above when we do. Continued use of the website or Software after an update means you accept the revised policy.
